Lash Extensions

If you love the look of mascara or false eyelashes but want to avoid the daily application, lash extensions might be a great option for you. This treatment involves placing individual false eyelashes which are then attached to the natural lashes using a professional adhesive. The result is a fuller, darker, and longer eyelash look that lasts considerably longer than mascara or traditional false lashes. At RenuYou MedSpa our lash extensions are applied by an experienced eyelash extension specialist who combines creative artistry with technical knowledge to provide the results you are looking for.mond is a classic font with a modern twist. What to Expect During Treatment

Prior to your application, your eyelash extension specialist will review your goal results and take your natural eye shape into consideration to select the best eyelash extension set for you. These lashes can then be individually applied to your natural lashes using a professional adhesive. The first application typically takes about 2-3 hours to complete. Follow-up lash “fill” appointments typically take about an hour.

Who is a Candidate?

A majority of people are good candidates for eyelash extensions. In order to complete the procedure, you must have an adequate number of natural lashes. Your natural lashes should also be in good health, and it is important to let your specialist know if you have any hair loss disorders. Those with skin sensitivities or allergies may also be poor candidates. In particular, if you have previously experienced an allergic reaction to medical adhesive, you may not be suited to lash extensions. Patch tests may be available as needed.

What to Expect After Lash Extension Application

Immediately after your eyelash extension application, you should be gentle and delicate with your new lashes. Do not rub or pull on the extensions at any time. It is important to keep your eyelash extensions dry for at least 4-6 hours after application, so avoid washing your face, swimming, or showering. After this time, you can gently wash your face, but should avoid the eye area as much as possible. Do not use oil-based products such as makeup removers or heavy eye creams. It is also best to avoid eyelash curlers, waterproof mascara, or cotton swabs near the eye area. Your lash specialist will show you how to care for the lashes, including gently brushing them daily to keep them in good condition.

How Long Do Eyelash Extensions Last?

Eyelash extensions will naturally shed as the natural lashes that they are attached to complete their growth cycle. This typically occurs within about 6-8 weeks. For this reason, it is best to schedule routine refill appointments so you can have additional lashes placed and maintain the appearance of your lash extensions. Taking proper care of your lash extensions can help you extend their longevity.
